Privacy Policy

GrindWise ("we", "our", "the app") is built with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what data the app handles, how it handles it, and your rights.

Data stored on your device

All of the following data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it unless you use the Smart Bag Scan feature:

• Your machine and grinder setup
• Bean bag details (name, roast level, days off roast, price, weight)
• Shot log entries (taste rating, time, dose, yield, tasting notes)
• Suggestion history
• Subscription status
• Notification preferences

We do not have access to this data. It is not transmitted to any server. If you delete the app, this data is permanently deleted.

Smart Bag Scan

When you use the Smart Bag Scan feature, the text recognized from your coffee bag label is sent to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com) to generate grind and brewing recommendations. This text is processed in real time and is not stored by us. Anthropic's data handling practices are governed by their own privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

No images from your camera are transmitted. Only the recognized text is sent.

Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier to manage your subscription status. No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat by the app. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Analytics and tracking

GrindWise does not include any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or crash reporting tools. We do not collect usage data, device information, or behavioral analytics of any kind.

Account creation

GrindWise does not require or offer account creation. There is no email, username, password, or sign-in of any kind. The app works entirely without an account.

Children's privacy

GrindWise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Third-party services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store for subscription purchases
• RevenueCat for subscription management (anonymous ID only)
• Anthropic API for Smart Bag Scan text analysis (optional feature, text only)

Data deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from within the app: Settings, then "Reset all data." This permanently removes all locally stored information. Since we never receive your data on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
